AS 990 Tahr Remote control mower:
AS 990 Tahr RC: The Revolution in Steep Slope Mowing
Mowing Steep Slopes Just Got Easier – And Smarter
Professionals in landscaping, municipal maintenance, and environmental services know the pain: mowing extreme slopes with dense vegetation is physically demanding, time-consuming, and often risky. Traditional brushcutters and ride-on mowers reach their limits quickly. Turning after every pass is inefficient. Operator fatigue, machine wear, and safety risks are constant concerns.
That’s where the AS 990 Tahr RC steps in.
The newly developed, remote-controlled high grass mower with caterpillar drive delivers unmatched efficiency on slopes of up to 50°, without the need to turn after each lane. With bi-directional mowing, robust rotary power, and intelligent design made in Germany, the Tahr RC redefines what’s possible in steep mowing.
More Coverage. Less Turning. Maximum Efficiency.
The AS 990 Tahr RC was engineered with a clear goal: maximize area performance while minimizing operational strain.
Thanks to its symmetrical rotary deck, mowing forward or backward yields the same clean, even finish. This means no time-consuming turning at the end of a row — a breakthrough in steep-slope efficiency. Clippings are evenly deposited regardless of direction, aiding rapid decomposition and preserving the soil surface.
Mowing in both directions saves time and ensures a consistent result in grass heights over 1.5 metres. The robust cross-blade system provides effective mulching and shredding, while the cutting height can be adjusted comfortably via remote control. The result is not just operational speed, but a visibly appealing finish – even on semi-formal lawns.

Built the AS-Motor Way: Simple. Robust. Reliable.
What defines an AS-Motor machine is not just its bright orange finish – it’s our core values of durability, practicality, and user-focused engineering. The Tahr RC carries on this legacy. From its tubular double 4-edge steel frame to its proven industrial-grade hydrostatic drive, every detail is built for real-world resilience. The adapted Sherpa blade system has been tailored for remote control use and is backed by intuitive controls and a service-friendly layout. The folding engine cover ensures easy access to components, while the machine’s electrics are kept as simple and reliable as possible.
